I’ve written two books on color, The Quilter’s Color Club (C&T) and Color: the Quilter’s Guide (Martingale), as well as articles for McCall’s Quilting, American Patchwork & Quilting, and American Quilter. Three of my designs have appeared in Modern Patchwork (Winter, 2014, Summer 2014, and Spring 2015).
Quilting Arts magazine put me into their April/May 2014 issue as the “Spotlight” artist, and Australia’s Homespun magazine featured my work in their October 2014 issue.
Modern Patchwork Winter 2015 Triangle Tote- I found an interesting, “twisted” way to use two simple triangle pieces.Modern Patchwork is available through Interweave Press. Unfortunately, they printed a lovely picture of the tote backwards. Go to my blog designsbyheidi.wordpress.com to see pictures of the front.
Stitch magazine, Winter 2015, features my Rods& Reels Lumbar Pillow. A fun way to use Kaffe Fassett stripes and a pair of used denim jeans.
Modern Holidays 2014, from the editors of Stitch, has my “Sleep Sweet Eyemask.” It is made from an up-cycled cashmere sweater and dupioni silk blouses.
Modern Patchwork Spring 2014 has my amazingly different and fun “Summer Quilted Backpack.” I made a trip to the hardware store to find different ideas for straps. The bungee straps I came up with are very comfortable.
